Playing Around With Balsamic Vinegar

So a couple of bottles of balsamic vinegar were sent to my house, I was wondering what am I going to do with all of this balsamic vinegar because it's usually served as dressing and it has an intense smell and distinct taste...but here's ways to transform it which is healthier replacement of barbecue sauce.

Lamb Ribs Oven Grilled with a Balsamic reduction.                                                            

Ingredients 

  • 3 Kg of Ribs                                                  
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 3 Spoons of Olive oil  
  • 200ml of Balsamic vinegar                               
  • 2 teaspoon of honey                                          
  • 3 tablespoons of Brown sugar                        

Method    

Preheat the oven to 180°C then simply take the ribs and rub with some olive oil and season with salt and pepper and place into the oven for 10 minutes.

In the meantime get the reduction started, in a saucepan add the balsamic vinegar, sugar, honey and bring to a boil whisking it, it should look thick and a bit sticky, take the ribs out and pour the balsamic reduction and place in the oven for 25-30 minutes, turning the sides every 5-10 minutes so the ribs are evenly cooked out.

Balsamic Reduction Chicken

Ingredients  

  • 8 pieces of chicken                                         
  • Salt and Pepper                                              
  • 2 tablespoons of chicken spice                      
  • 3 Spoons of Olive oil                                  
  • 200ml of Balsamic vinegar                               
  • 2 teaspoons of honey                                          
  • 3 tablespoons of Brown sugar                           

 Method                                                    

 Preheat the oven to 180°C then in a bowl, add the chicken, add the olive oil, salt and pepper and the chicken spice and place in the oven for 10 minutes. In the meanwhile get the reduction started, in a saucepan add the balsamic vinegar, sugar, honey and bring to a boil whisking it, it should look thick and a bit sticky, pour the balsamic reduction to the chicken and place in the oven for 20-25 minutes, turning the chicken every 5-10 minutes so it is evenly cooked out.
