Have you realized how watches have slowly become so insignificant in the digital overtake of our lives?

A number of gadgets at our day to day disposal tell us the time as it is, so why wear one? I'll tell you why.

As someone who is fashionably self aware  and is very alert in personal attention to detail, I realize that watches play an incredibly important role in completing as well as piecing up an outfit, but also in sharing your personal style with the world around you. Time is the ultimate luxury, so why not carry it on your wrist?

I recently was invited by Daniel Wellington to collaborate with them, and select out of their wide range of stunning watches, one that translates my style and who I am.  I chose the Classic Petit Melrose, in addition I selected the matching Bondi white leather band and a cuff.

HIGH END AND ELEGANT

The Classic Petit Melrose. Perfect for special and romantic occasions, and for the moments a woman needs to feel her most glamorous and elegant. I love the the sophisticated take to this piece.

Usually, I experience problems finding a watch that fits well around my wrist. I have incredibly tiny wrists, so my norm is getting watches resized.

Not with this precious one, fortunately!

It's easily adjustable and the beautifully crafted mesh strap fits perfectly around my small wrist, and the mesh doesn't pinch my skin! It's made from woven soft stainless steel and attention to detail was definitely placed in the process.

CONTEMPORARY STAPLE PIECE

The Bondi white leather piece is my day to day time piece. It's a piece you can take from day to night, and not because the colour is monochromatic, but because it's 'ANYTIME' appropriate. This being true because of the small detailing too. The stitching and the clean leather finish.

With many different brands and designs in the market, your watch can really make you stand out. And as simple as this one is, it's one of the pieces that make me stand out.

WHY WATCHES ARE IMPORTANT IN THE MODERN DAY

"For me, accessories create and define a women’s personal style. The bag she carries, the watch on her wrist, her jewelry, her sunglasses, her shoes all define a look that is her signature.” –  Ralph Lauren

My love for watches truly peaked when I picked up on the impression it made when I shook ones hand. When you pick up on their charmed glare directed at your wrist... PRICELESS.

Apart from the style element they present, watches bring about convenience my efficiency. I tend to be quite forgetful, to the point where I wouldn't put it past myself to leave my phone on the kitchen counter on my way out. Now imagine I was in a rush, and I left my phone, and in addition didn't have a watch, how would I be sure I'm getting to where I'm going on time?

So obviously, the answer to these unpredictable mini-train smashes is a watch.

Watches imply punctuality and conscientiousness. In a study conducted by researcher David Ellis from Lincoln University, UK and Rob Jenkins from York university, UK in 2015, the results indicate that “watch wearers are more conscientious and punctual than those with bare wrist”.

“As a fashion accessory or expression of social status, wearing a watch may provide an additional, albeit implicit cognitive impact on wearers, which makes them more conscientious and better planners.”, Rob further explained. They commented also that watches “could make the difference between making a positive or negative first impression at a job interview or missing an important event like a train”.

I truly believe that a watch is a multi-dimensional investment. Better yet, a Daniel Wellington watch.
